Fox 5's Good Day DC "Zip Trip" named the farm one of the top five destinations in Upper Marlboro, MD, in 2023.
Voice of America featured the farm in "Alpaca Farmer | VOA Connect Environment" on September 29, 2023.
Alpaca Lane Criations began in 2013 with four alpacas. Today, the 20-acre working farm is home to more than 40. Owner and manager Susan (“Sue”) served nearly 35 years in the Army before she turned a retirement dream into a farm that welcomes the public. Together, these touches make it an alpaca farm in Maryland visitors can enjoy at a relaxed pace.
As a women-owned, veteran-owned, and locally owned farm, Alpaca Lane Criations gives visitors a calm, hands-on break from city life. This is agritourism Maryland at its friendliest: small-group tours, curious alpacas, and a host who loves what she does. Eco-friendly practices keep the land healthy, and the farm even shares natural fertilizer with local gardeners.

"I had always dreamed of having a furry friend to share my life with, and that dream came true when I adopted Max from PawsNest. Max, a gentle and loving Labrador mix, stole my heart the moment I saw him. His wagging tail and hopeful eyes told a story of resilience and unwavering trust. Since that day, Max has been my faithful companion, bringing boundless joy and love into my life."
"Two years ago, I adopted Luna, a shy and timid rescue cat, from PawsNest. Luna had experienced a difficult past, but her sweet disposition captured my heart. Over time, Luna has blossomed into a confident and affectionate companion. Her purrs and playful antics fill my home with warmth and laughter. Adopting Luna has taught me the profound impact of second chances."
"When I first met Bella, she was a trembling ball of fur in the corner of her kennel at PawsNest. It was evident that she had experienced hardship, but her vulnerability touched my soul. Adopting Bella was the best decision I ever made. Watching her transform from a fearful pup into a confident and loving family member has been a remarkable journey. "

Our family had a such a nice time with Susan and her alpacas. If you want an up close and personal interaction with a group of alpacas, this is the place. Alpacas require a lot of care and they are certainly getting the best on this farm. Susan is a terrific host and tour guide.Posted on Google![]()
